Online Study Group Rules and Guidelines

Purpose and Expectations

Our online study group exists to create a supportive learning environment where members can help each other progress in their coursework. This is a space dedicated to collaborative learning, mutual encouragement, and maintaining consistent study habits. When you join this group, please understand that our primary focus is on learning together and supporting one another's academic growth.

Conduct Not Allowed in Zoom Study Sessions

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited in our study group sessions:

• No debating. This study group is not a forum for debates or arguments. Anyone who engages in debate will be expelled from the course study group. We are here to learn, not to win arguments or prove points.

• Disruptive behavior. Any conduct that interferes with the learning environment or distracts other members from their studies is not permitted.

What to Bring to Sessions

All students are encouraged to come prepared for productive study sessions. Please bring the following materials:

• Your notebooks

• Your course lessons and materials

• Any relevant IDT resources for the course

Protocol for Spontaneous Insights

During study sessions, inspiration and insights may arise naturally. We want to honor these moments of clarity while also respecting everyone's study time. If you experience a spontaneous insight during a session, please follow this protocol:

• Raise your hand to indicate your request to pause and capture your insight.

• Take time to record your thoughts. Once acknowledged, you may jot down your ideas or take a moment to contemplate them for future study.

• Lower your hand when you've finished capturing your insight. This signals to the group that the study session can continue.

General Guidelines

Remember that consistency and mutual respect are the foundations of our study group. We're all here to help each other succeed, so please approach every session with patience, openness to learning, and consideration for your fellow students.
